The new drink of the gods
Thorax Meadworks is a Viking-inspired beverage brand focused on bringing together two of man’s greatest passions — BEER and BEES. So naturally, when parent company and Washington winery, Longship Cellars, approached us to tackle the identity and packaging design, we were BEEyond excited.
As we were getting started, it became clear that because of the relationship between the new brand, the parent brand, and the product concept itself, much of the brainstorming around the name and visual concept had already been started by the client. This meant that we were able to go from an idea like “viking bee”— to the current logo and label design quicker than expected and so with the extra time left, we were able to assist with some other brand items that weren’t in the original proposal as well.

Honey, water, and hops.
Traditionally, mead is made by fermenting honey, water and spices to make an alcoholic drink that was enjoyed by the world’s earliest nordic cultures
Today, Thorax Meadworks has offered a new take on this classic by incorporating hops so that it drinks more like a beer while maintaining it’s original nutritional value.
